Cyanberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, straight trunk covered in fine, knobbly, gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is white.
The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of tiny, stiff, pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are white on the sides and cyan at the center.
In early spring, it produces many small, lime blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like freshly baked bread.
In late summer it produces , long, tapering fruit. The clammy gentle orange skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft white flesh is sour and syrupy. The blood red seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
