Silvervine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its silver stem is thick, and the small, lime green leaves are long, narrow with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with solid olive petals decorated with violet lines and a indigo central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 13 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like new carpet, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
