Lilac Vine

This short bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 23 feet (7.0 meters) and growing as high as 578 feet (176.2 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 5 months for the emerald stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are tough and woody.

The very thick, leathery leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are found in purple and lilac varieties, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces lots of tiny magenta flowers.
