Copperwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large tree grows up to 75 meters (246.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 452 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a branched, straight trunk covered in thin, knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is copper-coloured.
The thin clumps of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of rough, small, wide leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant yellow on the edges and hazel at the center.
In late summer it forms tiny, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
