Silverleaf
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its silver stems grow in bunches of 4 and are thick and straight, and the large, emerald leaves are long, tapering with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Two giant flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with light grey petals that gradient shift to dark brown on the outer edge. The central disk is bronze. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. They fall easily.
It has a mildly strong scent that smells like pine needles, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind and is ignored by most insect species.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
