Thorned Silverleaf
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This large caudiciform grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is gray, and is covered in large amounts of fine, green, hair-like spines. The wonky, dark orange trunk can grow to as much as 16 feet (4.9 meters) in diameter in the middle. Its pink-red branches trail down across the ground and start growing halfway up the stem.
The large amounts of smooth-edged, pleated leaves are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to silver at the top. They are hardy, and take little effort to detach.
It is very fast growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are grey at the sides and muted blue at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. It has a soft scent that smells like old shoes.
The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the hazel flesh is rubbery, and the blood red sap is thin.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
