Azure Petal

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This huge flower grows up to 7.8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. Its copper stem is very thick, and the small, gray leaves are 3 pointed with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 7 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 65 cm (25.6 inches) wide, with petals that are azure at the sides and white at the center. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They detach easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like rotting meat, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
