Blue Spruce
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This large tree grows up to 68 meters (223.1 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2535 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, brown-green bark, and inside, the light wood is light brown.
The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with handfuls of giant, lime green needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, blue aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
