Coniapple Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This giant fruit tree grows up to 58 feet (17.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 19 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of large, wispy leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are amber and cyan.

In early spring, it produces clusters of large, gold blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like something putrid.

In mid-summer it produces , triangular fruit. The waxy green skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the very soft peach flesh is sweet and very juicy. The hazel seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for making paper
