Sickleleaf Mahogany
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This massive tree grows up to 140 meters (459.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 489 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in silky, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.
The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of rough, tiny, sickle shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either ashy green, or light purple with white patches.
In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, amber blossoms with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like old shoes.
In late summer it forms tiny, gold seed pods.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
All parts of the creeper are edible.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
