Clinging Copper Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 530 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of sticky, huge, very thick leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are indigo on the edges and cream at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, bronze, shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
