Indigo Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This enormous creeper is a slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 1,730 feet (527.3 meters) and growing as high as 625 feet (190.5 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 39 years for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 1.6 feet (48 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The spear shaped, clammy leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are green with indigo tips, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces many balls of tiny lilac flowers.
