Emerald
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This huge cactus grows up to 158 feet (48.2 meters) tall. The very thick stem is emerald, and is covered in lots of fine, crimson, hair-like spines.
It is very slow growing, taking 49 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are generally intense purple; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 14 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like marzipan.
The cactus's skin is thin, the cyan flesh is leathery, and the copper sap is thin.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
