Aquamarineberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 18 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, brown-green bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very short and slender and are covered with large amounts of huge, finger-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are crimson on the edges and slate at the center.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of small, azure blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They are hardy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like glue.

In early winter it produces tiny, oval fruit. The hairy muted green skin is thick and spicy, and the crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and syrupy. The gold seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
