Aquamarineberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This large fruit tree grows up to 33 feet (10.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a slender, wavy trunk covered in rough, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is mahogany-coloured.
The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of giant, perforated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are dark grey and white.
In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, blue blossoms with perforated petals. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like skunk spray.
In early summer it produces tiny, slender, 7 pointed fruit. The soft green skin is thick and inedible, and the crunchy aquamarine flesh is savoury and very juicy. The olive seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The sap causes severe allergic reactions.
