Bluebell Moss

This blue or lilac moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs, and On trees.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly sturdy; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
