Bluevine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, slanted trunk covered in thin, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale brown.

The thick clumps of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, finger-like leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in sky blue, dark grey and subtle green varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, bronze blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like new books.

In late summer it produces tiny, broad, flat fruit. The smooth green skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is slightly salty, and the very soft gentle purple flesh is bitter and very dry. The olive seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for making strong rope
