Silverleaf Maple

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 585 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in delicate, cracked, gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown.

The numerous branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of smooth, small, stiff, pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are gray-green with gold tips.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, lime, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
