Aquamarine Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1909 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in rough, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow-brown.

The small handful of branches are tall, rigid and upright, with hundreds of twigs covered with handfuls of miniature, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces large, aquamarine aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
