Turquoise Zigzag

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is lime green, and is dotted with small lime spines. The finger-like leaves are either yellow or white, with turquoise zig-zags. Large amounts of them grow on very thick, olive branches that are very long and thin. The leaves are frail, and take little effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally pale purple; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 38 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the blue flesh is sticky, and the red sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
