Purple?
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This giant fruit tree grows up to 63 feet (19.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 57 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in cracked, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white.
The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small bunches of large, finger-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid purple with magenta zig-zags.
In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, sky blue blossoms with broad, flat petals. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like lavender.
In mid-autumn it produces small, spherical fruit. The smooth cyan skin is thick and spicy and savoury, and the crunchy hazel flesh is sweet and dry. The bronze seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
