Indigo Leaf Bush

This giant shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 73 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of flexible, straight stems covered in very thick, silky, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with small bunches of huge, sickle shaped, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are indigo on the edges and intense green at the center, flimsy and fuzzy.

In early spring it produces handfuls of medium-sized, dark brown flowers with finger-like petals. They are hardy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotting meat.
