Emerald
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 31 feet (9.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is emerald, and is covered in brittle olive spines. The bulbous, silver trunk can grow to as much as 31 feet (9.4 meters) in diameter. Its emerald branches are short, rigid and upright.
The irregular-edged, very thick leaves are bronze and sky blue. They are resilient, but take some effort to detach.
It is steady-growing, taking 18 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are lilac on the underside and sky blue on the top grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with many tightly layered narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like cheese.
