Serpentine Pine?

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 68 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in hard, wrinkled, black bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of small, finger-like leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are brown on the sides and azure at the center.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, lilac blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like onion.

In late summer it produces large, fan-like fruit. The soft purple skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy brown flesh is spicy and syrupy. The blood red seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
