Ashwillow
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 550 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in thin, cracked, brown-green bark, and inside, the light wood is light brown.
The extensive patches of branches are very long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of fuzzy, large, wispy leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are orange on the sides and slate at the center.
In early spring, it produces many bunches of large, peach blossoms with circular petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like ashes.
In late summer it forms giant, black, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
