Clinging Indigo Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big tree grows up to 78 meters (255.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 668 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, angular trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, yellow bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pine-coloured.
The small handful of branches are very long and slender and are covered with thick bunches of clammy, huge, 8 pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are blue at the bottom and indigo with dull purple patches at the top.
In late summer it forms tiny, hazel, shelled seeds.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
