Bloodfire Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 56 feet (17.1 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is brown, and is covered in thick bunches of fine, crimson, hair-like spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are blood red on the underside and pastel orange on the top grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like damp.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the cream flesh is rough, and the dull red sap is thin.

It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
