Copperleaf

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thin, and the small, copper leaves are asymmetrical with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Around 80 small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with solid muted green petals decorated with violet lines and a bronze central disk. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 49 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a powerful scent that smells like leather, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
