Pineapple Peach Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in delicate, waxy, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is pine-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, broad, flat leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are slate and azure.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, lilac blossoms with broad, flat petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like pineapple.

In mid-autumn it produces large, needle-like fruit. The clammy hazel skin is peel-able and bland, and the very soft peach flesh is savoury and dry. The black seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
