Stemwater Shrub

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 90 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of sturdy, straight stems covered in fine, knobbly, brown bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches trail down towards the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of giant, long, narrow, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are blood red and cream, hardy and sticky.

In mid-spring it produces several medium-sized, sky blue flowers with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
