Climbing Needleflower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its moss green stems grow in bunches of 7 and are thin with a curved tip, and the large, pink-red leaves are needle-like with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Each stem splits 1 to 3 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are silver at the sides and bold orange at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 26 curved petals. They are sturdy.
It has a strong scent that smells like lemon, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for making paper
