Spiralvine Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This large fruit tree grows up to 28 feet (8.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 43 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in thin, cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is mahogany-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of giant, 4 pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue and copper.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, bold purple blossoms with 6 V-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like warm cookies.

In early winter it produces small, wide fruit. The leathery blue skin is delicate and very bitter, and the very soft green flesh is slightly savoury and syrupy. The beige seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
