Bloodbloom Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This massive tree grows up to 130 meters (426.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 118 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a narrow, angular trunk covered in rough, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white.
The branches are very long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of smooth, tiny, asymmetrical leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in blood red and blue varieties.
In early spring, it produces handfuls of giant, vibrant green blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like faeces.
In late summer it forms giant, beige, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
