Silverwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows, flowers and dies within one year)

This enormous tree grows up to 116 meters (380.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 293 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, twisting trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The small bunches of branches are very long, thin and wispy, with hundreds of twigs covered with sparse amounts of giant, gray-green needles. The needles themselves are rigid.

In late summer it produces tiny, yellow berries.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
