Emerald Tear Moss

This pale red or washed-out purple moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is big, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely delicate; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
