Silvershade Fern

This enormous shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for around 27 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several slender, wavy stems covered in silky, light gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of tiny, very thin, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid yellow or white, with vibrant blue splotches, frail and soft.

It produces dozens of medium-sized, violet flowers with broad, flat petals. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like rotten eggs. In late spring it forms largedark red, spiky-shelled seeds.
