Coilvine

This enormous flower grows up to 10.5 feet (3.2 meters) tall. Its gray stem is wispy, and the huge, moss green leaves are long, narrow with jagged edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 6 to 10 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 37 cm (14.6 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of deep purple. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 54 petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like bleach, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
