Spineleaf Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This big leaf succulent grows up to 83 feet (25.3 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is pink-red, and is covered in brittle silver spines. The rounded leaves are either turquoise or cream, with dark brown dots. Small bunches of them grow on round, gray-green branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are rigid, and take some effort to detach.
It is slow growing, taking 15 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are hazel on the edges and slate at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 58 curved petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like roses.
The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the peach flesh is sticky, and the dark brown sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
The sap is edible and very spicy.
It can survive a very long time without water.
