Purple Puff Grass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small, slate and green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The finger-like stalks grow in extensive patches that are flexible.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, purple puff.
During the late summer, it produces a fair amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
