Cyanflower
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This big flower grows up to 4.2 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 6 and are thick with a curved tip, and the miniature, pink-red leaves are light burgundy on the underside and are long, narrow with tattered edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Many medium-sized flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with solid cyan petals and a vivid red central disk. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 58 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.
It has a mildly strong scent that smells like coconut, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
