Lilac Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The asymmetrical stem is emerald, and is dotted with small gold spines. The smooth-edged, sickle shaped leaves are silver at the bottom and florescent green with lilac splotches at the top. Handfuls of them grow from the base in a spiral pattern. The leaves are delicate, but take some effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 11 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are dark brown on the underside and purple on the top grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is largely flat with several raised narrow petals. It has no scent.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the dark yellow flesh is slimy, and the red sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
