Azure Petal Flower
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its orange stem is very thick and splits into dozens of branching stems at the base, and the miniature, lime green leaves are 4 pointed with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally azure; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is largely flat with 7 tightly layered round-tipped petals. They detach easily.
It has a delicate scent that smells like alcohol, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
