Indigo
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 590 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, silky, light gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is white with black speckles.
The small handful of branches are very long and slender and are covered with small bunches of sticky, large, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are indigo at the bottom and peach with black splotches at the top.
In late summer it forms small, beige seed pods.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for making paper
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
