Sundown Flower

This modest-sized flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray stem is very thin and splits into 7 branching stems at the top, and the large, yellow leaves are broad, flat with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

6 to 9 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 13 cm (5.1 inches) wide, with orange petals that gradient shift to peach on the outer edge. The central disk is grey. The flower head is made up of 37 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like alcohol, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
