Sunburst Ropevine

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its lime green stems grow in bunches of 3 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the giant, green leaves are stiff, pointed with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

4 to 6 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with solid vivid yellow petals decorated with florescent orange lines and a orange central disk. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of several tightly layered, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a delicate scent that smells like skunk spray, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to bees.

It is suitable for making strong rope
