Indigo Goldfern

Shrub type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 79 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several sturdy, angular stems covered in thick, silky, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down towards the ground that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, thick, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are vivid blue at the bottom and gold with indigo edges at the top, delicate and clammy.

It produces a thick sheet of tiny, amber flowers with 7 circular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like cinnamon. In early summer it forms smallsilver, tough-shelled seeds.
