When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, blood red tuft.
During the late autumn, it produces copious amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of medium-sized grains.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
