Magenta Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 581 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, black bark, and inside, the very dense wood is dark brown.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with small amounts of smooth, large, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are pale purple and magenta.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, bronze, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
