Silver Spike Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This giant cactus grows up to 172 feet (52.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 6 thin stems. Each stem is silver, and is covered in thousands of rigid dark grey spines.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with amber petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is made up of 27 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. It has a delicate scent that smells like musk.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the red flesh is smooth, and the brilliant red sap is thin.

It is bio-luminescent.
It can survive a long time without water.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
