Brown Tailgrass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This big, brown grass grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The 6 pointed stalks grow in thin clumps that are resilient and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, pale yellow tail.
During the early winter, it produces excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of small grains.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It is difficult to cut through.
